Famous abandonware site Home of the Underdogs is back, or at least quickly returning to its earlier state, at http://www.hotud.org/. Different appearance, same games, same mission and community.
Update, June 22: HotU is being revived on several sites, as Clara noted in comments: http://www.homeoftheunderdogs.net and http://hotu.pratyeka.org are others.
Apparently there are two other groups reviving HotU, http://www.homeoftheunderdogs.net/ and http://hotu.pratyeka.org/
It seems that there’s a bit of a politics war between different groups, and what the revival should be like. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/06/15/underdogfight-home-of-the-underdogs-returns/
I love Home of the Underdogs, and I’m happy to hear that it’s back, even if it has conflicting reincarnations.
Whoops! I didn’t mean to get into an underdogfight. I’m glad there is so much interest in keeping this resource available. Without having read up on it, perhaps people may have legitimate reasons to “fork” Underdogs at this point? I hope the community and the Web come out better from the current discussion, even if there are some conflicts going on.
