Sophia Le Fraga and Aaron Winslow read with me on this evening, on July 21.<\/p>\n<p>I have now posted 360 video of my readings of both <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/284014339\"><em>The Truelist<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/285048088\"><em>Hard West Turn.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4700\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4700\" style=\"width: 911px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/PRB_reading_in_360.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"911\" height=\"458\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/PRB_reading_in_360.png 911w, https:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/PRB_reading_in_360-300x151.png 300w, https:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/PRB_reading_in_360-768x386.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4700\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Montfort&#8217;s Poetic Research Bureau reading of July 21, 2018<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I read from <em>The Truelist<\/em> (Counterpath, 2017). <em>The Truelist<\/em> is available as <a href=\"http:\/\/counterpathpress.org\/the-truelist-nick-montfort\">an offset-printed book from Counterpath,<\/a> as <a href=\"http:\/\/nickm.com\/code\/truelist.py\">a short, deterministic, free software program<\/a> that generates the full text of the book, and as <a href=\"http:\/\/writing.upenn.edu\/pennsound\/x\/Montfort.php#Truelist-17\"> a free audiobook,<\/a> thanks to the generosity of the University of Pennsylvania&#8217;s Kelly Writers House, its Wexler Studio, and PennSound.<\/p>\n<p>After this, I read from <em>Hard West Turn<\/em> (Bad Quarto, 2018), a computer-generated novel about gun violence in the United States, the first of a series. Each novel, copy-edited by the author\/programmer, will be re-generated annually for release on July 4. <a href=\"http:\/\/badquar.to\/publications\/hard_west_turn.html\"><em>Hard West Turn<\/em> (2018) is available in print<\/a> in a very limited edition, only 13 copies for sale + 3 artist&#8217;s proofs. <a href=\"http:\/\/nickm.com\/code\/hard_west_turn_2018.py\">The short free software program<\/a> that generated the text is available as well.
