{"id":3483,"date":"2014-02-10T17:12:56","date_gmt":"2014-02-10T22:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/?p=3483"},"modified":"2014-02-10T17:12:56","modified_gmt":"2014-02-10T22:12:56","slug":"a-catalog-of-trope-tank-warez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/2014\/02\/a-catalog-of-trope-tank-warez\/","title":{"rendered":"A Catalog of Trope Tank Warez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to RA Erik Stayton, we now have a formidable <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/\">catalog of hardware and software<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/\">The Trope Tank,<\/a> my lab at MIT.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto\" src=\"http:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/tt_catalog.png\" alt=\"Trope Tank catalog system images\" width=\"390\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are pages on each of the systems (or in one case a group of switched systems) that are regularly hooked up and ready to use:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/appleIIc_system.html\">Apple IIc System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/atari400_system.html\">Atari 400 System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/atarivcs_system.html\">Atari VCS System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/commodore64_system.html\">Commodore 64 System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/macintoshSE_system.html\">Macintosh SE System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/powermacG4_system.html\">PowerMac G4 System<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/videogame_systems.html\">Video Game Systems<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also, information is recorded about each display and about all the other working computers that are kept in the lab.<\/p>\n<p>And while every last disk in the lab has not been cataloged, the VCS, Commodore 64, NES, Intellivision, and Odyssey cartridges and all packaged retail software on disk or CD-ROM are now listed in the extensive <a href=\"http:\/\/trope-tank.mit.edu\/materials\/software.html\">software catalog.<\/a> For now, this catalog is presented as a simple, long Web page.<\/p>\n<p>In other Trope Tank news, thanks to Jason Scott I&#8217;ve replaced a part in the <i>Asteroids<\/i> machine and the display no longer oscillates &#8211; the machine works perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>The Trope Tank welcomes small classes, researchers, and artists and writers who are looking into the material properties of digital media.
