It is based on Claude Closky&#8217;s 1989 &#8220;Les 1000 premiers nombres class\u00e9s par ordre alphab\u00e9tique&#8221; [The First 1000 Numbers Classified in Alphabetical Order], which he laser printed and which begins this way:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ww.closky.info\/?p=176\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nickm.com\/post\/wp-content\/stuff\/from_the_first_1000_closky.jpg\" alt=\"From Closky&#039;s The First 1000 Numbers Classified in Alphabetical Order\" width=\"435\" height=\"138\" style=\"border: 1px #000 solid\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A full image of the first page spread (which is the source for the image above), and more context for this work, is available <a href=\"http:\/\/ww.closky.info\/?p=176\">on this page.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The printed copies of my &#8220;The First M&#8230;&#8221; were dot-matrix printed on two connected sheets of fanfold paper.
