Yes, I do plan to go to more parties, but the next one that I wanted to go to, the new Récursion in Montréal, won’t work for me because of its timing. Perhaps I should look to Europe instead…

I’d say there exists quite a few cliques that may be difficult to penetrate. Other than that the people don’t come off as being very exclusive, apart from the narrow demographic thing.

In the day of Internet video publishing services and free hosting it’s technologically so simple to put your stuff out there outside the party circuit.

The “wanking circle” “boys club” mentality some sceners associate with the social side of the demoscene seems adolescent at best in these days. Thankfully people are getting older and rid of the needless elitism.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that those people are non-inclusive; it means that there are many others, including people from other regions of the world, people of different races, and women, who could also be enjoying the scene.
