When I was trying it out, my 5-year-old daughter asked me what it was. While she’s a capable reader on her own, I decided to show her the game by reading the text aloud as I played. I appreciated how the interactive experience slowed the interaction with the text, especially at the “powerful” words which caused us to stop, consider and reconsider the last screenful of words.

That’s not to say I wouldn’t have an enriching experience with the same words reading silently from paper, with pacing influenced by the meter and rhythm of the text alone. But this was a different experience with its own rewards, an interactive performance of the text. I don’t know if everyone would enjoy it doing it the way I did, but consider reading it aloud for heightened effect.
